This handmade conjure chicken foot was created around the energy of protection, spiritual awareness, watchfulness, guarding and keeping an eye on what is moving around you. The eye charm at the center inspired its name — The Watcher.
In conjure and rootwork traditions, chicken feet have long been associated with scratching away unwanted energy, protection, defense and spiritually clawing through obstacles. The claws themselves make the symbolism clear: this is not passive energy. This is something made to guard, scratch away and stand watch.
The Watcher can be placed near an altar, doorway, spiritual workspace or another area you want spiritually guarded. It can also be brought into your personal protection and cleansing work.

The dried and cured chicken foot is individually hand-painted and detailed by me. From there, the feathers are selected and added individually by hand, the wrapping is completed by hand, and the finishing charm is added to complete the design.
This particular piece features rich blue, turquoise and purple tones, layered coordinating feathers, purple detailing and an eye charm at the center.
These pieces take approximately 4–6 hours each to create, depending upon the design and detailing.
